ABOUT

Hi, I’m Gladis.

The traveler and writer behind this Verona Card Info. I also write at Happiness On The Way — a soulful travel blog about finding happiness through slow, intentional travel.

Verona holds a special place in that story. It’s one of those cities that surprised me completely and stayed with me long after I left. Building this guide is my way of sending other travelers there better prepared than I was.

Verona wasn’t even on my list.

I was on a Northern Italy road trip with my partner Mat when we decided to stop for a day. One day — that’s all we gave it. The moment I walked into Piazza Bra, I knew that wasn’t going to be enough.
The pink-hued buildings, the Roman ruins without the crowds of Rome, the piazzas that make you want to sit down, slow down, and just be there. Verona gave me the Italy I had always imagined.

I left wishing we had two days instead of one.

We bought the Verona Card on that trip, winged most of our itinerary, and somehow stumbled into one of the best travel days I can remember. The Arena. Castelvecchio. Cruncheria pizza. Gelateria Impero’s salted pistachio gelato.

I’ll be honest. I almost didn’t get the Verona Card. After 13 years of travel, I’ve learned to be skeptical of city passes. They usually leave you rushing through attractions you don’t even care about just to feel like you got your money’s worth.
Verona was different.

We used it, enjoyed every one of them at our own pace, and didn’t once feel like we were chasing value. It’s the only city card I’ve used where I forgot I was using a city card.

When I got home, I couldn’t find a single guide that explained the Verona Card simply and honestly — what it actually covers, what you need to book in advance, what’s worth it and what isn’t. Most sites were either outdated, vague, or clearly written by someone who had never been there.

So I built this one.
